Education Thrusts

The convective modeling group participates in education thrusts designed to productively incorporate evolving technologies into the process of learning at the high school, college and graduate levels.

Current Educational Activities

Activities include continued development of Weather World 2010 (WW2010, Severe Storms), an educational effort which integrates current and archived weather data with multimedia instructional resources using new and innovative web technologies and design/development of the Virtual Exploritorium.

Archived Educational Activities

The coupling of educational activities to internet technology began when the internet became available in the mid-1980's. Completed projects included CoVis where project enhanced learning was emphasized and Project Horizon where WWW client and server technology was developed for better public access to earth and space science data.
